Resource Conservation Speech Contest 2021

2021 Topic:
“What Have You Done for Conservation Lately?”

Win Scholarships! State Champion $1,100 – 2nd Place $750 – 3rd Place $450

The speech contest is open to any high school student (public, private or home-school), grades 9-12, in South Dakota.

Eligible participants will give their speeches at the Local Contest, sponsored by the Brookings County Conservation District. The Local Contest will be held NO LATER than March 27, 2021 (location, date and time to be determined).

The Local Contest will award $50 to the top two speech contestants and will qualify them to participate in the Area Contest which will be held NO LATER than April 10, 2021 (location, date and time to be determined). Two winners will be selected from the Area Contest to give their speeches at the State Contest to be held in Pierre on April 24, 2021 at 9:00 am CDT in Room 414 of the State Capitol.

Area Contest Awards:

• 1st Place - $75
• 2nd Place - $50
• 3rd Place - $25

**Note: First and Second place winners will be reimbursed for mileage to Pierre and Lodging.
